John Steinbeck’s Of mice and men and John Boyne’s The boy in the Stripped Pyjamas both demonstrate how important and valuable friendship is. John Steinbeck’s and John Boyne both explore excellently how loneliness makes different characters develop extremely strong friendships and bonds. A bond so strong that is can even break physical, cultural, geographical and racial boundaries.
